Weekly News & Analysis

Cable and Streaming News

Weekly roundups of what's actually happening in the cable, satellite, and streaming industries — with 28 years of installer perspective on what each headline really means for your bill.

Short answer Every week we pick the cable, satellite, and streaming headlines that actually matter for the household budget — and explain what each one really means in plain English. Honest sources, honest analysis, no affiliate inflation, no hype.

What this section is — and what it isn't

Every cable, satellite, and streaming news story you read is filtered through one of two lenses: the press release written by the company, or the headline written for ad clicks. Neither one tells you what it actually means for your bill.

This section is the third lens. Every story gets read, broken down, and translated into plain English by someone who's been installing TVs for 28 years. With my Dad — 44 years inside the cable industry — kicking in the historical context every story needs. We publish a new roundup every Monday.

We credit our sources. We don't lift quotes without attribution. We don't embed competitor video to game engagement metrics. We summarize, link out, and add the installer-level take that you won't get from the original.
