What's new for 2026
The G6 got LG's Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel in 2026 — the next-gen Tandem OLED structure that delivers 20% higher peak brightness than the G5 at 10% APL. Measured: 2,268 nits peak, 331 nits full-screen. Both numbers are class-leading among OLEDs.
The G6 doesn't ship with a stand — it ships with the Flush Fit Gallery Wall Mount in the box. LG's saying: this TV is meant to be on the wall. If you wanted a credenza setup, buy a stand separately or pick the C6 instead.
Smart TV experience & OS
webOS 26 — same OS as the C6 (Gemini + Copilot integration). App ecosystem complete. AirPlay 2 + Chromecast both built in. ATSC 3.0 tuner included. Magic Remote is divisive (you'll love it or replace it).
Picture quality & panel tech
Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 WOLED panel (newest LG Display tech). 2,268 nits peak HDR (10% window), 331 nits full-screen. Better motion handling than C6 due to the new panel structure. Color volume is the widest LG has ever shipped on a WOLED.
Dolby Vision + HDR10 + HDR10+ + HLG. Six sizes: 55, 65, 77, 83, 97.
Gaming performance
Best-in-class gaming OLED. 4× HDMI 2.1 + 165Hz + VRR/G-Sync/FreeSync/ALLM + GeForce Now 4K@120 + Bluetooth ULL controllers (1ms latency). Input lag ~9ms at 4K@120.
Audio & soundbar pairing
4.2 channel 60W built-in. AI Acoustic Tuning + Dolby Atmos passthrough. Decent but a $2,500 TV deserves a soundbar — pair with LG SC9S WOWCAST (attaches to back of G6 for cleanest install) or Sonos Arc.
Mount & install notes
Gallery Wall Mount included in box. Flush profile (~5mm from wall). VESA 300×300 on 65", 400×300 on 77"+. No stand option — wall mount is the install path.
For any other mount, the G6 supports standard VESA so third-party slim mounts work. Use TV Mount Builder for sizing.
Who should buy this TV
Buy if: Direct-sun bright room, wall-mount install, you want LG's absolute flagship OLED, you like the gallery look, 97" buyer.
Skip if: You wanted a stand option, budget under $3K, or the C6's 1,438 nits is bright enough for your room (saves $1,000).
Rick's final verdict
Rick's verdict: the best dark-room OLED of 2026, period. The Gallery Mount is genuinely a $100-150 saving over buying a third-party slim mount. The brightness bump vs C6 matters in bright rooms. For most buyers the C6 is still the smarter spend — but if you have the budget and the wall, the G6 is the pinnacle.
Final score: 9.5 / 10 — flagship-tier OLED with real upgrades over G5.
