Canada are in Group B with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, Switzerland. Head coach: Jesse Marsch (USA). Captain: Alphonso Davies. Below: full squad spotlight, fixture-by-fixture US broadcast info, and what to expect.
American coach previously at RB Salzburg, RB Leipzig, and Leeds United. Took over Canada in 2024 and immediately said this is the best squad Canada has ever assembled.
Canada plays all three group-stage matches at home — Toronto opener vs Bosnia, then Vancouver for Qatar and Switzerland. Marsch's biggest concern entering the tournament is Davies' hamstring; the Bayern Munich left-back is doubtful for the opener but expected to return for the later group games. Jonathan David's prolific scoring at Juventus (Canada's all-time leading scorer) plus Buchanan's pace on the wing give Canada a credible attacking trio. Defense is the question mark. A favorable Group B draw means Canada should advance to the Round of 32 — what they do from there depends entirely on whether Davies is healthy.
Ceiling: Quarterfinal — all three group games on home soil, Davies fit, and the favorable side of the bracket. Marsch has been bold about expectations.
Floor: Group stage exit if Davies misses the tournament and Switzerland punishes the leaky defense.
